Srajka,

Thanks for taking the time to read and finding it at offer worth considering.

About you not kicking the vice, its purely your personal choice  and common sense (or the lack of it) that helps you decide.....

Coming to the vernacular used in the blog its not Kannada- Its Tulu, a language spoken in Mangalore and the surroundings. You must have missed out reading the italicised mention at the top of the blog where Tulu is clearly mentioned.

Yet, you took only half a minute to decipher that one- not bad!

Thank you sir for the link, I personally think my Kannada rocks, good enough for me to understand Pampa, Ranna or Kuvempu. Or even identify Thika kobbus across the seas.....

Thanks and God bless...

I don't know if I'll actually leave smoking from this, but surely I'll be interested in the offer! :)

One more thing, Monseur. I think your kannada skills should be honed! I took half a minute to understand your Kannada "bega bala.. .. " I think you should've put the statement in Kannada script because anyways, the others won't understand . That's what the russian's do anyways!

Basically, the site I use is http://quillpad.in/kannada/  for typing in Kananda. It's very simple and straight forward. I think you'll find that useful.
Bye,
Srajka

Welcome back Rollingstone........Nice autobiographical account of a man that finally decided to stop being a chimney. Very encouraging and the correct day to post...unfortunately we did not see it earlier:-{ I remember when you met all of us you did give us a brief account of this heroic deed......however the blog was one detailed description which I hope will encourage a few other smokers to quit. The other day I read that the latest gadget, after all those patches etc is a pill....donno about its other effects but it sure could create a beeeeeeeeg hole in your pocket.....I always feel that the best way is your way- self control. If one doesnt have the will, of what use is a pill? Anyway, hope you write more often now......:-}

Rollingstone: Boy o boy... you know how to rub it in... now I'll feel guilty the next time I light up...:-) Jeez:
I went back home that night and promised her that I would never smoke again.

The promise lasted a full 12 hours.

that could be me saying that any old time...

Hey! Welcome back buddy.. long time since I read something from you...

cheers,

Keshav

I found this article very interesting  Rollingstone. I could draw a parallel between your efforts  and that of a close relative of mine.
My best wishes to you.

Hey Rollingstone,  where have you been ?  Seeing you here after a long hiatus and you have rolled back with a brilliant and inspiring blog.    I'm sure there are many on Sulekha who could take a tip or two from you and kick some white thin butts;  {although there are more of the brown and round category who deserve some real hard kicks on their rear with a very hard boot ;)}.   I really admire your determination and willpower;  you need these in big doses for giving up something that you were addicted to in a big way.   Lucky are those whose lives you touch.  And hey,  keep on writing and rollin,  not away, but back to  Sulekha;   I know that there are many who have a very high regard for your writing; including yours truly of course.
